Pedro Guimaraes joined Vestar in 2020 to serve as a Senior Advisor focused on developing and implementing a buy & build strategy in the broad Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety-QEHS’ Testing, Inspection, and Certification-TIC services market.
Pedro is an accomplished and energetic Business/Industrial Services Executive with a successful leadership track record in numerous international markets through a variety market conditions.
Pedro is currently a Board member at FST Technical Services, a US specialty engineering company serving the semiconductor and biopharma sectors. Prior to that, Pedro provided advisory services to several financial sponsors investing in the broad TIC Market, including the Riverside Company.
Pedro dedicated more than 30 years of his career to Bureau Veritas Group (ticker: BVI), with 18 years of experience in top executive leadership positions and serving on the Group Executive Committee. During his tenure at Bureau Veritas, Pedro actively developed and inspired his teams, driving them to deliver superior performance (through strategy, sales, quality of services, organic and inorganic growth, margin improvement, and cash conversion), launch innovative services, and turn around underperforming businesses. His leadership contributed to the company’s outstanding growth story during his tenure, growing from ~$300 million/~3,500 employees to $6 billion+/~70,000 employees.
Through several international leadership assignments at Bureau Veritas, Pedro developed the company’s global network of TIC services, spanning North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Pacific, and the Middle East. The network serves multiple end markets, including Agri-Food, Automotive, Commodities Products, Construction & Real Estate, Consumer Products, Energy, Government Services, Infrastructure & Transportation, International Trade, Manufacturing, and Marine & Offshore.
Originally from Brazil, Pedro earned a B.S. in Naval Architecture at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, a MBA at the Ecole Supérieur de Commerce de Paris, in France, and a MBA at COPEAD – UFRJ at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. Additionally, Pedro received continuing education credits in Corporate Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, in the United States.
Pedro is a cultural diversity enthusiast, which led him to master the English, French and Spanish languages, in addition to his native language, Portuguese.
