Financial Services Sector
The relatively complex and segmented nature of Financial Services has made it an ideal fit for Vestar’s partnership approach to investing. We provide the capital and other necessary resources, but it’s management who brings the specialized skill and the vision needed to take that company forward.
Over the years, we’ve focused our investments primarily in two areas: specialty finance, such as Duff & Phelps and MCG Capital, and insurance, such as Symetra Financial, Validus Holdings and Paris Re. To a company, we’ve enabled our portfolio partners to achieve the growth objectives set out by their management teams. And as Vestar expands further into Europe and Asia, we’ve pushed that growth horizon into overseas markets, where we’re finding increasing opportunities for strategic partnerships and additional acquisitions.
